African music industry professionals from the continent and the diaspora can now submit entries for this year’s edition of the All Africa Music Awards before the presentation event from 3 to 6 November (AFRIMAs).

The announcement comes after the 2022 calendar was unveiled last month. The AFRIMAs will honor musical compositions produced between August 20, 2021, and August 5, 2022. These awards recognize and promote Africa’s rich cultural legacy.

A total of 40 prizes are given out, covering a variety of musical styles and artistic expressions, including traditional, modern, and classical African music. The honorary AFRIMA Legend Award is another component of the awards.

The Legend Award is given to an accomplished musician from Africa whose personality and artistic talent have made a significant contribution to the development of the continent’s music and creative industries. Through the course of his or her professional career, this renowned veteran has improved how the world views African culture and art.
