The origins of Tanzania’s inaugural anti-corruption agency trace back to 1974 under Act No. In July 2007, the existing Prevention of Corruption Act (PCA) was nullified and succeeded by the present Prevention and Combating of Corruption Act (PCCA). This amendment not only ushered in the current legal framework but also rebranded the agency as the “Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau” (PCCB).

Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau (TAKUKURU)

The Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau (TAKUKURU) is a public institution established under the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Act No. 11 of the year 2007. This law was enacted following the repeal of the Prevention of Corruption Act (TAKURU) Chapter 329, which was amended in the year 2002. The establishment of this entity came after the Parliament of the United Republic of Tanzania passed the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bill in 2007 on April 16, 2007. This bill was signed into law by the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Jakaya Kikwete, as the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Act on June 11, 2007, and it became operational on July 1, 2007.

The Director-General of the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau (TAKUKURU) would like to inform applicants who passed the initial screening that the written aptitude test will take place in Dodoma at the Planning College on the 9th of March 2024.

Important Points to Note:

1. The date of the aptitude test is Saturday, 9^th March 2024.
2. The test will commence at 3:00 AM on the specified date for all applicants.
3. The list of applicants invited for the test and the test venue is available on the TAKUKURU website www.pccb.go.tz.
4. Each applicant should fill in their personal information on the attached form, which is also available on the TAKUKURU website www.pccb.go.tz.
5. The personal information form should be filled out carefully and accurately, as it is part of the Aptitude test. Any applicant who fills out the form incorrectly will lose the opportunity to pass this screening.
6. The form must be submitted on the test day, 9th March 2024. Any candidate who fails to submit the form will be considered unsuccessful in the screening.
7. Each candidate should write their assigned test number; failure to do so will result in the test not being corrected.
8. Those who pass the written test will be called for an oral interview.
