Here, Tume ya Utumishi wa Mahakama – The Judicial Service Commission is an entity established in accordance with Article 112(1) of the Constitution of the United Republic of Tanzania of 1977. Additionally, the Judiciary Administration Act Chapter 237 grants the Judicial Service Commission, among other responsibilities, the task of recruiting various personnel for the Tanzanian Judiciary.

Therefore, the Judicial Service Commission announces to Tanzanians who meet the specified qualifications for each job position and are ready to work for the Tanzanian Judiciary in various Regions and Districts to submit their job applications:

Resident Magistrate II – TJS 2 – (5 Positions)

Qualifications:

Applicants should have a Certificate of completion of Form Four or Six, a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from recognized Universities or Higher Education Institutions endorsed by the Government, along with a Postgraduate Diploma in practical legal training from the Law School of Tanzania. Additionally, they should possess computer literacy skills.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare a plan for hearing initial cases of Criminal and Civil matters.
  2. Adjudicate initial cases of Criminal and Civil matters.
  3. Adjudicate initial cases of marriage and succession.
  4. Prepare and deliver judgments on all cases heard.
  5. Issue various legally permissible court orders.
  6. Resolve disputes.
  7. Hear appeals from Ward Tribunals.
  8. Conduct legal research and provide advice.
  9. Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Office Management Clerk Grade II TGS C (3 Positions)

Qualifications:

Recruitment of Form Four or Six graduates with a Diploma in Secretarial Studies or a NTA level 6 certificate in secretarial studies. Additionally, they should have passed the Kiswahili and English Shorthand exams with 100 words per minute and have proficiency in office computer applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, Email, and Publisher from any Government-recognized institution.

Responsibilities:

  1. Type letters, reports, and ordinary and confidential documents.
  2. Receive visitors and inquire about their issues, directing them to the appropriate places for resolution.
  3. Maintain records, records of events, appointments, visitors, the chief’s travel schedule, and other work schedules.
  4. Retrieve files and documents needed in the execution of job duties.
  5. Receive files and distribute them to Officers in the relevant Department/Unit/Section.
  6. Collect, maintain, and return files and documents to the relevant areas.
  7. Compile extracts and prepare various meeting preparations.
  8. Prepare a list of office equipment needs.
