Vacancy: Assistant Project Accountant at Plan International

Role Purpose:
The position is accountable for the financial management of the Mellita Coffee Project, aiming to enhance the skills, economic opportunities, and resilience of women and youth engaged in coffee farming in Tarime. The role involves ensuring an effective internal control system, accurate accounting, and financial reporting in compliance with donor financial guidelines. The role also includes facilitating the capacity building of partner finance staff on compliance and ensuring timely advance settlement and payments.
Dimension of the Role:
This operational-level role focuses on the Mellita Coffee Project, involving day-to-day finance activities to enhance program delivery, operational efficiency, and compliance with Plan International policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include:
- Performing transactions and corrections
- Maintaining filing and audit trails
- Managing month-end and year-end closures
- Overseeing cash and assets management
- Providing support for audits
- Managing payment processes and apportioned costs
- Ensuring compliance with government laws, donor requirements, and Plan policies and procedures
