Vacancy: Insurance Specialist; Claims at NMB Bank

Job Location: Head Office, Hq

Job Purpose:

Oversee all aspects of claims, processes, and procedures for both general and life insurance products, ensuring timely and accurate claim payments. Address customer complaints promptly and uphold the interests of the bank and clients by ensuring the settlement of all valid claims.

Main Responsibilities:

Manage all life and general insurance claims, administering the embedded life and general insurance claim portfolio.
Track insurance claims to ensure timely payments within agreed timelines.
Implement claim procedures for all insurance products and foster relationships with insurers’ claim teams.
Proactively identify and resolve claim issues promptly.
Maintain relationships with customers, branches, and other stakeholders.
Fulfill the obligations specified in Bancassurance regulations regarding claims and customer protection.
Review and validate submitted claims, identifying and mitigating risks to the bank.
Develop efficient and secure methods for claim settlement.
Prepare monthly reports on claim performance for each insurer, reconciling claims paid against claimed amounts.
Ensure claims settlement processes adhere to SLAs and guidelines.
Communicate timely claims feedback and decisions to stakeholders.
Provide support and guidance to customers throughout the claims process.
Efficiently prioritize and manage multiple claims to meet deadlines.

Knowledge and Skills:

Comprehensive knowledge of insurance.
Familiarity with bank products.
Understanding of legislation related to bancassurance and channel delivery.
In-depth comprehension of the product life cycle.
Proficiency in insurance products and claims.
Knowledge of insurance policies, laws, and regulations related to claims.
Ability to assess and analyze data for informed claims decisions.
Precision in reviewing documents and policies for accurate claims processing.
Clear communication with clients, explaining policies and claim processes.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle challenging claim situations.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in insurance business, risk management.
Certification or training in risk management and insurance business is an added advantage.
Minimum of 3 years of working experience in the insurance business with a reputable company or institution.
Experience in underwriting, claims, and sales of insurance products.
