Post A (2 posts)

  • The ideal candidate should have at least a Master degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering and an undergraduate degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering. 
  • A PhD in Metallurgical Engineering or Chemistry is a distinct advantage. The successful candidate would be required to teach any two (2) of the following undergraduate modules:- Physical Metallurgy, Mechanical Metallurgy, Metals Processing, Engineering Alloys, Metal Casting and Corrosion

Post B (2 posts) 

The ideal candidate should have at least a Master degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics or Materials Science and an undergraduate honours degree in Electronic Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Physics or Materials Science. 

 A PhD in Electronic Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Materials Science and Engineering or Energy Materials, Physics with specialization in Electronic Materials or Materials Science with specialisation in electronic materials is a distinct advantage.

The successful candidate would be required to teach any two (2) of the following undergraduate modules:- 

  • Fundamentals of Semiconductor Devices,
  • Optoelectronics and magnetic properties of materials, Spintronics Semiconductor Device Characterization,
  • Thin-film Materials Science and Technology, energy materials

 Post C (1 post) 

The ideal candidate should have at least a Masters in Chemistry and undergraduate honours degree in Chemistry.

A PhD in Chemistry or Materials Science with specialisation in Polymer Chemistry is a distinct advantage The successful candidate would be required to teach any two (2) of the following undergraduate modules:- 

  • Polymer characterization, Polymer Thermodynamics, Biopolymers and Biomaterials.

SCHOOL OF HEALTH SCIENCE 9.1 Department of Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Medicine Professor/Associate Professor/Senior Lecturer/Lecturer 3 Posts)

The ideal candidate should have at least an At least a Master A degree in Pharmacognosy, Ethnopharmacology, Botany and Conservation or equivalent and a relevant undergraduate degree. Possession of a relevant PhD is a distinct advantage. 

Work experience in a University setup or plant related industrial setup and experience in securing independent research funding will be an advantage The successful candidate would be required to teach the following undergraduate level module:- Introduction to Ethnopharmacology and Drug Discovery and Botany and Conservation.

The ideal candidate should have at least an At least a Master A degree in in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, General Chemistry, Biochemistry or equivalent and a relevant undergraduate degree.

Possession of a relevant PhD is a distinct advantage. Work experience in a University setup or plant related industrial setup and experience in securing independent research funding will be an advantage.

Applicant should have at least 2 years work experience in a similar position / industry position. The successful candidate would be required to teach the following undergraduate level module:- 

  • Organic/Analytical Chemistry and Biochemistry

The ideal candidate should have at least an At least a Master A degree in in Anatomy and Physiology or equivalent and an MBChB undergraduate degree. Possession of a relevant PhD is a distinct advantage. Work experience in an industrial field setup and or education experience will be an advantage. The successful candidate would be required to teach the following undergraduate level module:- Anatomy and Physiology and Pharmacogenomics

The ideal candidate should have at least an MSc in English, Communication, Applied Linguistics or equivalent and a relevant undergraduate degree. Possession of a relevant PhD is a distinct advantage. The successful candidate would be required to teach the following undergraduate level module: – Communication and Information Technology.

The ideal candidate should have at least an MSc in Journalism or Media Studies or equivalent and a relevant undergraduate degree. Possession of a relevant PhD is a distinct advantage. The candidates should have demonstrable experience competence in newspaper layout and design, news gathering and writing, and media law. The successful candidate would be required to teach any two (2) the following undergraduate level module:- Media Law and Ethics, Theories of Communication, New Media and Communication Technologies, The Sociology of Mass Communication, Global Media Structures, Political Communication and the Media, Public Relations, Media in Zimbabwe and Media, Society and Culture.

School of Wildlife Ecology and Environmental Science 7.4 Department of Fresh Water and Fisheries Science Professor/Associate Professor/Senior Lecturer/Lecturer (4 Posts)

The ideal candidate should have at least an MSc in Environmental Science/ MSc GIS and Remote Sensing or equivalent and an undergraduate degree in Environmental Science and Technology or equivalent. Possession of a relevant PhD Aquatic Ecology and Environmental Science and an advanced diploma in any of the relevant disciplines is a distinct advantage. The successful candidate would be required to teach any two (2) of the following undergraduate level modules:- Geographical Systems and Remote Sensing, Environmental Modelling and Integrated Water Resources Management.

The ideal candidate should have at least an MSc in Environmental Science or equivalent and an undergraduate degree in Aquatic and Marine Science, Biochemistry or equivalent. Possession of a relevant PhD Environmental Science/ Aquatic Ecology/ Hydrobiology and Fishery Sciences and an advanced diploma in any of the relevant disciplines is a distinct advantage. The successful candidate would be required to teach any two (2) of the following undergraduate level modules:- Ichthyology, Aquatic Biodiversity, Fundamentals of Limnology and Ecotoxicology.

Post C (1 post) 

The ideal candidate should have at least an MSc in Aquaculture, Hydrobiology and Fisheries, Environmental Science or equivalent and an undergraduate degree in Aquaculture and Fisheries Science or equivalent. Possession of a relevant PhD in Aquaculture, Fisheries and Environmental Science and an advanced diploma in any of the relevant disciplines is distinct advantage. The successful candidate would be required to teach any two (2) of the following undergraduate level modules:- Fishery Sciences, Aquatic Invasion Ecology, Ecohydrology and Watershed and Aquaculture

Post D (1 post) 

The ideal candidate should have at least an MSc in Fisheries, Food Processing Technology, Biochemistry/ Biology or equivalent and an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry/ Molecular Biology or equivalent. Possession of a relevant PhD in Biochemistry/ Biology/ Community Based Conservation in any of the relevant disciplines is a distinct advantage while possession of a relevant advanced diploma is an added advantage. The successful candidate would be required to teach any two (2) of the following undergraduate level modules:- Fish genetics and breeding , Fisheries post-harvest technologies, Community based management of fisheries and Fisheries Research Methods.

The successful candidate would be required to teach the following undergraduate level modules:- Environmental modelling and Environmental Monitoring and Remediation

The ideal candidate should have at least an MSc in Development Studies/ Monitoring and Evaluation/ Environmental Management / Project Planning or equivalent and an undergraduate degree in Geography and Environmental Studies / Development Studies/ Environmental Management or equivalent. Possession of a relevant PhD Geographical Information Systems/ Environmental Management is a distinct advantage. The successful candidate would be required to teach the following undergraduate level modules:- Project Planning and Evaluation and Geo-informatics Professional Practice.
