About the job

The Digital and Blended Learning Technical Specialist will be responsible for the implementation and oversight of TCDC online education, learning and knowledge outcomes. This role will be part of the TCDC IT team. The Digital and Blended Learning Technical Specialist will work with IT lead, Academics Lead, Swahili Language Lead, Short Courses Lead, Knowledge Curation Lead and other relevant staff within the organization to develop, maintain and implement a suitable electronic learning and knowledge management strategy and plan that will support the vision of the organization to capture, share and extend learning and knowledge online. The Digital and Blended Learning Technical Specialist will be responsible for sustaining the institution’s reputation for quality, reliability and customer satisfaction.

As the Digital and Blended Learning Technical Specialist, your main areas of responsibility will be (but not limited to):

• Research on, develop and maintain online instruction platforms for e-learning at TCDC
• Work closely with TCDC faculty / subject matter experts both internally and externally (training associates), to guide on course design requirements for upload on identified e-learning platform
• Support TCDC faculty / subject matter experts both internally and externally (training associates) with technical requirements as need arises during e-course implementation
• Support TCDC faculty / subject matter experts both internally and externally (training associates) in creating engaging learning activities in various forms (videos, text, animation, etc.), as per requirement for e-course
• Maintain classrooms and relevant e-learning requirement and troubleshoot where relevant
• Develop or research and institute other relevant digital learning products to support TCDC Digital and Blended Learning ambitions
• Be part of the TCDC Learning Committee sub-committee on Digital and blended learning
• Be the TCDC focal person in the ActionAid Denmark (AADK) Digital Capacity and Learning Working Group

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education
• At least Bachelor’s Degree in IT; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Experience:
• Experience with Digital Learning
• At least three years’ in education or related industry
• Online learning infrastructure development
• Experience with adult learning
• Intercultural work experiences an advantage

Knowledge, abilities and skills:

• Strong project management skills
• Strong knowledge of online learning
• Strong communication skills
• Strong teamwork skills
• Willingness and ability to work flexible hours from time to time
