Mission Statement:
Empowerment of consumers of regulated Civil Aviation goods and services through consultations, education and representation to ensure adherence of consumers’ rights and obligations for the balanced market-driven civil aviation industry.
Functions Of the Council
- To present the interest of consumers by making submissions to, providing views and information to and consulting the Authority, and the Minister;
- To receive and disseminate information and views on matters of interest to consumers of regulated goods and services.
- To establish local, and regional consumer committees and consult with them;
- To consult with industry, government and other consumer groups on matters of interest to consumers of regulated goods and services.

About LATRA CCC
The LATRA Consumer Consultative Council is established under section 29 of the Land Transport Regulatory Authority (LATRA), Act No. 3 of 2019. The Act repealed the SUMATRA Act No.9 of 2001 that was regulating both maritime and surface transport services in Tanzania Mainland. The Government decided to split regulatory functions of maritime and land transport leading to enactment of the LATRA Act.
LATRA began its operations on 29th April, 2019. It is set to regulate the transportation of goods and passengers operated by commuter buses, inter city buses, goods carrying vehicles, taxi, motorcycles, tricycles, railways and cable transport.
