Ancestral House Eastern Africa is an export go-to-market service and distribution company building and managing export product shelves that sustainably connect buyers and sellers. Buoyed by the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AFCFTA), our overall objective is to boost trade within Africa and between Africa and other continents.

We are looking for a Marketing Intern to join us in the upcoming weeks. This position is great for aspiring marketing professionals looking to build their digital marketing portfolio, learn about sales and experiential marketing strategies and engage with inspiring businesses from across Africa.

You will learn to:
• Assemble quantitative and qualitative data from marketing campaigns.
• Research and analyze market share and competition. Competitor research is a must.
• Maintain customer relationship management systems (CRM) and databases of our company.
• Develop your professional skills to grow both within the company and on your own
• Assist in marketing and advertising promotional activities (e.g. social media, direct mail, and web)
• Create out-of-the-box ideas for marketing campaigns.
• Prepare promotional presentations
• Help organize marketing events
• Support the marketing team in daily administrative tasks

Requirements and skills
• Current enrollment in a related Business or Marketing degree/diploma
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic understanding of different marketing techniques (e.g. Point-of-Purchase Marketing, Internet Marketing, Paid Media Advertising, etc.).
• Passion for the marketing industry and its best practices
• Strong desire to learn along with a professional drive
• Experience creating Canva designs and/or Instagram reels will be an added advantage
