Role purpose:
- To manage a team of highly qualified, and highly specialized engineering professionals responsible for Access Network Engineering domains ranging from antenna strategy and testing, coverage assurance and reporting, end-to-end network capacity planning, as well as strategic network planning initiatives and network design guidelines.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Spectrum strategy & spectrum acquisition.
- National antenna strategy & testing, cell extender/repeater strategy & testing.
- Coverage assurance and coverage reporting.
- Strategic network planning initiatives including evaluation of site lists for national rollout aligned with Vodacom’s business strategy. Also includes guidance on network design and dimensioning.
- Network capacity planning including evaluation of network impact of all new Vodacom Products & Services, holiday period traffic planning, just-in-time capacity planning, and guidelines for network element dimensioning.
- Inform Disaster Recovery policies and procedures.
Ideally you should possess the following:
- Matric/Grade 12 is essential.
- Minimum of B.Sc Engineering degree/diploma.
- Postgraduate qualifications/certificates in business management/administration will be advantageous but not necessary.
- Leadership, people management, and people development.
- Strategic thinking.
- Communication and presentation skills to senior-level management.
