Vacancy: Maintenance Controller at Coca Cola 2024

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Asset Care

  • Participate in the creation of the asset care plan for Utilities equipment by making suggestions and offering expert assistance.
  • Ensure that asset care competencies are built within the Utilities team. When training needs have been identified, make sure they are addressed.
  • Ensure that asset care goals are included into the technicians’ team and individual objectives.
  • Support the implementation of the Predictive Maintenance Strategy, which includes the Condition Monitoring program.
  • Participate in the OEM SPP (Supplier Partnering Programme) meetings as required.
  • Is responsible for executing the technical gap plan for utilities.
  • Ensure audit compliance for the asset care program.
  • Exercise financial controls on asset care requirements, such as spares.
  • Support the establishment of the maintenance budget.

Plant Reliability

  • Responsible for the dependability and availability of utility equipment.
  • Ensure the performance of maintenance/extended maintenance tasks.
  • Lead the team in providing asset management and engineering assistance to shift-based production teams.
  • Conduct and lead performance optimisation activities to help utilities enhance their performance.
  • Ensure that predictive maintenance approaches are used correctly.
  • Ensure that parts required to support the asset management program are available on time and within cost.
  • Ensure compliance with maintenance plans and the execution of maintenance outages.
  • Confirms that spare parts and specific tools are available.
  • Coordinate and manage technician availability during the maintenance day.
  • Examine plant reliability to verify that equipment is working at peak efficiency and to detect faults or opportunities as soon as possible.
  • Analyze water usage and optimize energy consumption throughout the site.
  • Ensure that Technical gaps are closed within budget.
  • Develop and control maintenance cost plans and CAPEX
  • Facilitate the development and use of Supply Chain ways problem solving tools.

Plant Optimisation

  • Evaluate the impact of new plant and equipment and suggest modifications.
  • Have a basic understanding of plant functioning and any associated Work Instructions and/or Procedures.
  • Analyze plant failure modes and analyze the causes of repeated failures in order to identify and address root issues.
  • Participate in analyzing continuous improvement opportunities identified by production teams or engineering support.
  • Ensure that continual development is incorporated into the Technicians’ team goals and is part of regular goal review sessions.

Team Leadership and Management

  • Lead the Technicians team in a way that fosters ownership, empowerment, and team collaboration.
  • Lead the formulation of the Technicians team goals and ensure that they are communicated and understood by all team members.
  • Establish a high-performance culture through regular team goal review sessions, one-on-one meetings, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure that training needs are assessed and training programs are prepared for team members.
  • Ensure that adequate competencies are created in the team and that multi-skilling occurs within the Packaging (this includes evaluating team workmanship).
  • Manage contracted-out maintenance services by verifying that the service provided is strictly in compliance with the supply scheme contract, as well as service and product reliability, quality, and cost, and that the service provider’s own staff behavior is appropriate while on site.

Safety and Housekeeping

  • Ensure that team members follow all safety and housekeeping protocols, as well as all legal and KORE standards, while carrying out their jobs.
  • Follow and drive NOSA safety requirements throughout the workplace.
  • Ensure that all statutory and mandatory checks are integrated into the asset care management system, and that all documentation is completed and recorded.
  • Ensure that health, safety, and housekeeping are properly prioritized through frequent checks and audits, as well as appropriate monthly/quarterly meetings.
  • Correct the identified dangerous workplace behaviors.
  • Site 5S Performance Measurement and Reporting

Skills, Experience & Education

The position requires at least a Mechanical Engineering degree and 5 years of experience in utility and processing equipment maintenance. Good grasp of safety, health, and environment, including sustainable development; good analytical skills, and a shown high level of integrity.
