Vacancy: Investment Officer at EFTA

Branch: Mbeya

Department: Operations Position: Investment Officer -IO Deadline: 28th March 2024.

Purpose of role:

The Investment Officer will be in charge of managing EFTA clients directly, which will include bringing in new business, evaluating loan applications, and keeping an eye on clients who have already been approved for loans.

Job Description

Day to day responsibilities:

Pre-application:

  • Locate prospective clients in the intended markets and inform them about the EFTA offering.
  • Assist the Branch Manager in providing prospective applicants with pre-application workshops.
  • Give those who are preparing applications ongoing guidance.

Application processing:

  • Evaluate all applications thoroughly, taking into account the applicant’s dependability and company feasibility. This will involve working capital checks, personal reference checks, customer site inspections, conversations with existing or new suppliers and customers, and basic financial analysis.
  • Evaluate candidates’ environmental, social, and governance (ESG) aspects.
  • Make suggestions to the Branch Manager regarding the direction of investments.
  • Prepare investment proposals using a standard format for the local Credit Committee for investments that have been agreed upon with the Branch Manager.
  • Engage in the equipment supplier screening process by conducting site visits, for example.

Post-application:

  • Assume primary accountability for a group of EFTA’s clients, keeping a close eye on their investments through frequent visits to their places of business and phone calls serving as reminders.
  • Provide the Branch Manager with suggestions for reorganizing the loan or write off the decisions made for these consumers.
  • Find any ESG concerns in your portfolio, and make sure your clients are informed on labor rules.
  • Collaborate with the training team to determine the skills training requirements of the clients and make sure that any training is appropriately followed up on. This can also entail lending a hand with event planning for customer networking.
  • Keep thorough records on the software used by EFTA.

Candidate Specification  Experience:

  • Applicants who recently finished school are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • A current driver’s license

Education Level:

  • must be a graduate of an accredited university with a bachelor’s degree.
  • Required skills include problem-solving, communication, analysis, sales, and marketing, as well as Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of SME financing, business appraisal, and mathematics.
