How to Make a Conference Call on MTN, Jio, Airtel, Glo, or Any Global Network? What is the Activation Code for a Conference Call?

Making or activating a conference call is useful, particularly when working from home. Conference calls facilitate collaboration on various projects or assignments, among other things.

While making these calls should be simple with online video conferencing tools like Zoom, Google Meet, Skype, Telegram, and even WhatsApp, not everyone in the world has reliable internet access. This is particularly true in Cameroon, Nigeria, Ghana, India, Zambia, South Africa, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Pakistan, the Philippines, and Indonesia, among other places.

This has resulted in the use of alternative means, such as cell phones, which are quite costly on their own.

If your meeting will have fewer than seven people, you can still use any mobile service provider to make a conference call.

Most service providers do not require a conference call activation code. If prompted, you can enter the code 6789 to activate this service on your Android or iPhone.

Are There Any Conference Call Limits?

Yes, Most service providers (MTN, Airtel, Jio, Vodacom, Telenor, Orange, Vodafone, Zong, Du, Telecom, and Glo) limit the number of recipients you can add to a conference call. Most users on a conference call are capped at five (5) concurrent users.

The process is pretty straightforward if you have an android device or an iOS device, as I will illustrate below.

What are the Charges for making a Conference Call?

There are no fixed or special charges specific to those making conference calls. In most cases, standard charges apply, such as calling within the same network, other networks, or calling abroad. Some networks offer the service for free.

How to Make a Conference Call on MTN, Jio, Airtel, Glo, or any Network Worldwide?

1. Android Phone Call Conferencing

The steps below describe how to activate call conferencing on an Android Phone:

1. On your Android device, go to your contact list and tap on one of the numbers you want to call
2. If you have a dual sim phone, proceed with selecting the network you prefer for the conference call
3. Then once the call is in progress, press the back button to go to the dial pad
4. Once you have located the next contact, tap on it and hold for seconds.
5. After the selected contacts have been added, you can tap on the merge calls icon to begin your conference call.
6. IPhone Call Conferencing

The steps below describe how to activate call conferencing on an iPhone:

1. On your iPhone, tap on the contact you want to call.
2. Tap on the “Add call icon when the person answers the call.” The first contact will be temporarily put on hold.
3. Once the second contact answers the call, tap on the merge calls icon to begin call conferencing on an iPhone.
