The Higher Education Students’ Loans Board (HESLB) is a body corporate established under Act No.9 of 2004 (as amended in 2007, 2014 and 2016) with the objective of assisting needy and eligible Tanzania students to access loans and grants for higher education.

The Higher Education Students’ Loans Board has unveiled an opportunity for diploma students admitted to commence their studies in March 2024 to apply for financial assistance. The online loan application window will be open for a three-week period, commencing from March 1st, 2024, to March 22th, 2024. This initiative aims to support diploma students in their pursuit of higher education by providing them with the necessary financial aid to cover tuition fees and other related expenses.

Diploma students aspiring to apply for loans are strongly advised to familiarize themselves with the ‘Guidelines for the Issuance of Education Loans for Diploma Students for the year 2023-2024 (SECOND EDITION).’ This comprehensive guide, available on www.heslb.go.tz and www.nactvet.go.tz, outlines the specific courses given priority and details the step-by-step application process. By carefully following these guidelines, students can ensure that their loan applications meet the necessary criteria and increase their chances of successful disbursement.

HESLB’s recognizes that some diploma students who were previously admitted may not have had the opportunity to apply for loans. Therefore, this announcement extends an invitation to these students, allowing them to submit their loan applications during the stipulated period. It is essential for all applicants to carefully review the provided guidelines, taking note of the qualifications and criteria for loan eligibility, and submitting their applications accurately and promptly.

Applicants are reminded of the crucial importance of meeting the specified application deadline of March 22th, 2024. This deadline will not be extended, emphasizing the need for timely submissions to facilitate efficient processing, analysis, and allocation of loans to eligible candidates. HESLB’s aims to streamline the disbursement process, ensuring that deserving students receive the financial support they require to pursue their diploma studies without unnecessary delays.

In conclusion, the Higher Education Students’ Loans Board encourages all eligible diploma students to take advantage of this opportunity and submit their loan applications diligently. This initiative reflects HESLB’s commitment to promoting accessibility to higher education by providing financial support to students pursuing diploma studies in various fields.
