Position: Picker at DHL Group

Location: Dar es-Salaam, Tanzania

Job Summary:

The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee the efficient handling of goods and materials, ensuring adherence to formal procedures, both manually and through the system. The Warehouse Operations Coordinator plays a crucial role in providing quality service to clients and their customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaboratively ensure the provision of quality service to clients and customers, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  2. Adhere to and enforce safety rules and regulations on-site, fostering a culture of workplace safety.
  3. Maintain good housekeeping practices in offices and working areas, guiding employees to comply with safety regulations and related policies.
  4. Accurately handle the receiving, dispatch, and storage of stocks from suppliers, following relevant documents and procedures.
  5. Implement FIFO (First In, First Out) practices by indicating receipt/dispatch dates on all items.
  6. Organize warehouse stocks by item, within marked areas, utilizing row identification cards and bin cards.
  7. Perform receiving and dispatch duties according to agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA) to avoid penalties.
  8. Conduct regular cycle counts for stock reconciliation, reporting and addressing any variances promptly.
  9. Maintain warehouse tidiness by arranging stocks neatly and removing unnecessary materials from working areas.
  10. Report areas needing attention to the supervisor, ensuring a tidy working environment and addressing any repair needs.
  11. Immediately report any damage to stocks, FLT’s (Forklift Trucks), or other assets on-site.
  12. Follow security measures rigorously to prevent unauthorized access or loss of inventory.
  13. Ensure accurate and timely posting of all documents, including Load Verification for loaded goods.
  14. Complete any other tasks and responsibilities assigned by management.

Key Performance Indicators:

  1. Accuracy in receiving materials.
  2. Timely and accurate dispatch of goods and issuing of MROs (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations supplies).
  3. Stock reconciliation completed on time, with timely escalation of any variances.
  4. Adherence to safety rules, regulations, and related policies.
  5. Compute and file Proof of Delivery (POD) reports on receipts.
  6. Accurate system entry of stocks within agreed timelines.
  7. Accurate recording and documentation of all transactions.
  8. Ensure received stocks are in good condition.

Qualifications, Experience & Attributes:

  1. Fluent in both written and spoken English and Swahili.
  2. College Degree/Diploma in business administration, logistics, or procurement.
  3. Ability to handle multitasks in multi-functional warehouses.
  4. Excellent customer service skills.
  5. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Telecommunication SKU warehouse.
  6. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a busy multiple SKU warehouse.
  7. Strong team player with good relations and public management skills.
  8. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and work with minimum supervision.
  9. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  10. Computer literate, proficient in spreadsheets and word documents.
