Job Summary

  • Managing all Absa Citizenship partnerships both local and foreign.
  • Drive pan-African Citizenship initiatives to desired levels.
  • Managing employee Citizenship schemes
  • Ensure the engagement of employees in Citizenship
  • Administrate and manage all internal and external key events.
  • Manage funding requests and drive the Country Citizenship Committee meetings
  • Create a favourable public image for Absa in the Citizenship and act as a key point of contact for Citizenship issues
  • Establish and maintain good contacts with key stakeholders so as to ensure sustainable partnerships.

  • Provide input and coordinate all training initiatives relating to the Bank’s Citizenship Support Programme.
  • Encourage and assist staff (where applicable) in their fundraising and EV activities.
  • Provide advice and support for employee volunteering.
  • Promote and coordinate group citizenship programs.
  • Working with Absa Tanzania’s Head of Marketing and Corporate Relations to create Citizenship communication plans, including the channel and content best appropriate for the target demographic.
  • Working with the Marketing and Communications Manager to create and deliver internal communications that support the Bank’s agenda, Citizenship calendar, and other marketing initiatives.
  • Organizing a variety of face-to-face interactions, including conferences, seminars, and product launches, to focus the in-country MD’s attention on putting the client first in all we do.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to improve communication skills.
  • Managing a public relations agency and executing campaigns with an emphasis on achieving objectives that will be documented in short reports.
  • Be the local network’s primary point of contact for any citizenship issues, as well as the champion for in-country citizenship.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to secure long-term Citizenship partnerships.
  • Ensure that any funding requests received by the business are appropriately and quickly responded to.
  • Receive, review, and respond to Citizenship-related support inquiries.
  • Ensure comprehensive administration of local donations.
  • Ensure that all locally financed citizenship projects are closely monitored and progress reports are submitted.
  • Co-ordinate Ceremonies to mark the beginning and end of financed initiatives.
  • Create the Country Citizenship Committee terms of reference.
  • Analyze and draft suggestions for committee approval.
  • Ensure that the proposal approval procedure is followed
  • Circulate Committee Minutes and prepare for the quarterly meeting.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to deliver great company performance by providing first-rate communications.
  • Sharing best practices and offering input on any communication-related concerns.
  • Developing close working connections with cross-sector stakeholders and third-party suppliers to guarantee that communication goals are reached.

Risk and Control Objective

In the event of a major incident in the business unit, serve as crisis coordinator and delegate tasks to crisis teams.
Review the business unit’s risk and compliance profiles on a regular basis and advise the Managing Director on modifications that are required to rebalance risk and reward as needed.
Understanding your personal role in the end-to-end processes in which you participate, including any relevant risks and controls.
