AMKENI SACCOS LTD is a community-based Savings and Credit Cooperative Society engaged in cooperative activities, registered under the Co-operative Societies Act No 6 of 2013 since 2009. It is licensed under the Microfinance Act No 18 of 2018 as a SACCOS Class B. Situated in the MWAMBENE AREA along TEKU ROAD in MBEYA CITY, the Society’s primary goal is to mobilize savings, provide loan facilities to members following the loan policy, and offer other value-added services such as cultivating savings habits and financial management.

AMKENI SACCOS is in search of a qualified Tanzanian citizen to fill the position below.

Job Title: SACCOS Manager (1 Post)

NATURE AND SCOPE

The appointed candidate will serve as the Chief Executive Officer of AMKENI SACCOS LTD and will report to the Board of Directors. The role involves providing dynamic leadership, vision, and direction to the SACCOS, ensuring appropriate outreach, and delivering high-quality services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Manage, control, supervise, and plan day-to-day SACCOS operations and activities.
  2. Oversee the effective implementation of the SACCOS’s short, medium, and long-term plans, adhering to relevant legislations, rules, and regulations.
  3. Provide direction and leadership toward achieving the SACCOS’s Vision, Mission, and Strategic Objectives.
  4. Develop a Strategic Plan and optimize productivity.
  5. Prudently manage the utilization of the SACCOS’s resources within approved budgets, guidelines, policies, laws, and regulations.
  6. Coordinate and manage all departments reporting to the General Manager.
  7. Ensure the submission of quarterly/annual performance reports for the Board of Directors and other statutory bodies.
  8. Manage human, financial, material, and logistic resources of the SACCOS.
  9. Prepare annual targets, budgets, business planning, strategic planning, and oversee implementation.
  10. Advise the Board on investments and decision-making.
  11. Execute activities assigned by the Board or SACCOS’s various committees according to specific resolutions.
  12. Serve as Secretary to the Board Meetings.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Holder of a Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent from a recognized institution in Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration in Accountancy/Finance, Cooperative Management, or Microfinance Management.
  2. Minimum 3 years of working experience in SACCOS, with 2 years at the decision-making level.
  3. Strong written and oral communication skills in both English and Swahili.
  4. Ability to commit and work independently.
  5. Computer skills are necessary.
  6. Must be an adult Tanzanian.
