The origins of the Aga Khan schools in Tanzania go back to the 19th century when a girls’ school was started around 1905 in Zanzibar by Sir Sultan Mohamed Shah Aga Khan III. The focus of AKES in Tanzania is to implement educational programs that are designed to assist students in acquiring life skills as well as an intellectual foundation that will enable them to make their way confidently in a world increasingly characterised by globalisation and technological advancement. To meet the needs of diverse communities, AKES in Tanzania operates schools which run both National and International curricular. Key responsibilities
Budget Preparation and Analysis: The Senior Finance Officer (SFO) should demonstrate experience and skills with budget preparation and analysis. SFO should be able to assist the Chief Financial Officer in handling the day-to-day budget and reports management function. Financial Reporting Preparation and Presentation: The SFO should have experience in financial reporting preparation and presentation. They should be able to provide relevant financial information to the senior management team.
Monitoring Financial Procedures and Records: The SFO should oversee and take responsibility for all financial procedures and records. They should ensure that the financial department and transactions of the organization are monitored. Analyzing Financial Reports: The SFO should conduct data and statistical analysis to evaluate the school’s financial performance and stability. They should be able to analyze variances between approved budgets and actual expenditures and monitor the integrity of various financial systems. Fixed Assets Management: The SFO will be responsible for Fixed Assets management of the school together with the procurement department. Ajira mpya Agha Khan Education Services 2023
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a relevant field. Professional qualification as a ACCA/CPA is considered a plus Working experience on budget preparation, budget management, and financial reports Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role Strong analytical skills and excellent knowledge of Excel Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data Applications should include a cover letter that demonstrates their suitability for the role with a detailed Curriculum Vitae, and the names of three professional referees one should be the current employer, and should be emailed by July 20, 2023, to:
