Legal Aid Volunteer – 12 Position at LHRC February 2024. Ajira LHRC The Legal Aid Volunteer Job Legal Officer ensures there is an Increase access to justice for indigent persons by providing legal knowledge, advice and support or litigation. S/He will also be responsible for identifying issues for advocacy and documenting success stories.

LHRC was established in 1995 as a non-governmental, voluntary, non-partisan and not-for-profit sharing organization, with the purpose of working to empower and conscientize the people of Tanzania on legal and human rights.

Generic responsibility

Provide legal assistance to clients. Resolve and mediate client disputes. To update and maintain the Legal Aid Management System (LAMS) and the Legal Aid Website. Document success stories of legal assistance clients. Identify and highlight concerns for advocacy among the legal aid clients that attended. Conduct gender analysis on LAC instances to identify advocacy difficulties.

Clients receive high-quality legal aid services. Ensure that the program is implemented to achieve the expected results. Ensure that all activities and program-related obligations are completed on schedule. Contributes to accomplishing the LHRC vision. Any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Context / Specific experience

  • Successfully completed Law School
  • Completed undergraduate bachelor’s degree in law (LLB)
