Job Details
Our client is one of the leading steel & plastic manufactures in Tanzania and is currently operating in Arusha. On behalf of our client, we are seeking to recruit qualified accountant to assist senior accountant with financial activities. Junior accountant responsibilities include assist in auditing financial documents and procedures, reconciling bank statements and calculating tax payments and returns. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience with bookkeeping and a flair for spotting numerical mistakes. Ultimately, you will provide us with accurate quantitative information on financial position, liquidity and cash flows of our business, while ensuring we’re compliant with all tax regulations and ensuring the company attains the best financial position.

JOB DESCRIPTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process payment and documents as invoices, journal voucher, employees’ reimbursement and statements
- Very items billed against items ordered and receive and reconcile differences through follow-ups with procurement management unit
- Reconcile transactions, financial data and other financial information to an automated accounting system
- Review on-line transactions for accuracy and correct errors
- Participate in preparation of trial balance on monthly basis
- Maintain subsidiary errors example; debtors, creditors and journals
- Prepare list of monthly outstanding debtors and creditors
- Participates in preparation on various reports and salary allowance
- Undertakes banks and other reconciliations of financial information
- Prepare tax invoice and other receivables
Follow up outstanding invoices
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- 1-3 years’ work experience as an Accountant
- Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Hands-on experience with accounting software like FreshBooks and QuickBooks
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Experience with general ledger functions
- Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
- BSc in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree
- Additional certification (CPA or CMA) is a plus
