Airswift Hiring Environmental Lead

Airswift is in search of an Environmental Lead to collaborate with a client in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania. The ideal candidate should hold a Master of Science degree with a minimum of 12 years of environmental management experience, particularly in the construction industry, preferably oil and gas, onshore pipeline, and related facility scopes. Proficiency in working with lender-financed projects and a detailed understanding of international performance standards, such as IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles IV, World Bank EHS guidelines, and relevant regulatory requirements in Uganda and Tanzania, is crucial.

The qualified candidate should possess competencies in proprietary management systems and associated desktop applications, with experience in industry-specific tools like Assure, OMIE, Aconex, PowerBI, P6, SharePoint, Adobe, and MS Office. The role requires effective staff management, autonomy, adaptability to changing priorities, and a self-motivated approach. Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written, are essential, along with the physical ability to work in the field and conduct inspections in challenging terrain.

Responsibilities include supporting the EPcmC staff and contractors, participating in the development of various plans and procedures, ensuring environmental management compliance, building relationships with stakeholders, supervising environmental teams, and actively participating in audits and compliance assessments. The Environmental Lead will play a vital role in overseeing environmental activities, conducting inspections, and ensuring the project’s adherence to environmental standards and regulatory requirements.
