400 Jobs at National Electoral Commission (NEC) February 2024 National Electoral Commission hereby informs qualified Tanzanians to apply for short-term contract positions in the Information Technology (IT) and Procurement and Supply Management categories for the improvement of the Permanent Voter Register. NATIONAL ELECTORAL COMMISSION ANNOUNCEMENT OF TEMPORARY CONTRACT JOB VACANCIES

IT CATEGORY (200 Positions in Dar es Salaam and 50 Positions in Dodoma)

A: Applicant Qualifications for IT Category i. Must have at least a Form Four certificate, experience working with the Commission will be an added advantage; ii. Must have a degree, diploma, or certificate in IT (ICT/IT), Electronics, Electrical from a recognized institution, or any other field related to IT, or a computer course certificate, or computer skills; iii. Skilled in using computers and smartphones, including minor repairs of these devices; iv. Must not be an employee in the Public Service; v. Must not have been convicted of criminal offenses in the past five years before applying for this job; vi. Must be honest and trustworthy.B:

 Duties and Responsibilities: 

i. Prepare enhancement equipment, including connecting and charging them; ii. Install various IT programs; iii. Verify all IT equipment in the Commission’s offices; iv. Provide technical advice to council executives during the implementation of Commission-supervised activities; v. Assist Commission staff in training council executives on the use of IT; vi. Perform preventive maintenance on IT equipment; vii. Carry out other duties as assigned by the respective work supervisor.

PROCUREMENT AND SUPPLY CATEGORY (150 Positions in Dar es Salaam)

A: Applicant Qualifications for Procurement and Supply Category i. Must have at least a Form Four certificate, experience working with the Commission will be an added advantage; ii. Must be in good health; iii. Capable of working in any environment; iv. Able to work full time and overtime; v. Having a degree, diploma, or certificate in procurement and supply studies is an added advantage; vi. Must be honest and trustworthy.B: Duties and Responsibilities: i. Enter equipment information into the store ledger; ii. Participate in stock taking; iii. Store equipment in the Commission’s warehouses; iv. Ensure the safety of equipment and warehouses; v. Load and unload equipment; vi. Pack various equipment; vii. Arrange equipment in warehouses; viii. Clean the warehouses; ix. Carry out other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR ALL APPLICANTS 

Applicant must be a Tanzanian citizen, aged between 18 and 45 years; ii. Attach copies of Secondary Education and Professional certificates as required for the respective category as detailed in this announcement; iii. Attach a copy of the birth certificate or an original affidavit; iv. Include a CV showing phone number and residential address; v. Attach two recent passport-size photographs; vi. Attach a letter signed by three referees, their residential addresses, two recent passport-size photographs, and a National ID number;

vii. Attach an introduction letter from the Street or Village Chairman of the area you live in; viii. Specify on the envelope the work station you are applying for between Dar Es Salaam or Dodoma and the position you are applying for; ix. The Commission will not cover any travel and subsistence expenses for applicants applying outside their home region; x. The Commission will not cover travel expenses for interviews; xi. All applications must be sent via Post. Hand-delivered applications will not be accepted; xii. Applicants who submit forged information will face legal action.
