The Kabanga Nickel project will be a mining and processing operation producing high-grade nickel, cobalt and copper refined metals entirely in Tanzania. Our refining, using a hydrometallurgical processing technology, has the potential to be more cost efficient than smelting and produces far less harmful carbon and sulphur dioxide.

IT Coordinator

Tembo Nickel is seeking to recruit an IT Coordinator to join Tembo Nickel Project Team. This role is based at Kabanga site. The successful candidate will be accountable to coordinate and execute IT support activities and operational standards for the IT systems including a virtual environment, storage, network, and desktops to ensure that all are functioning without any error. This role will be reporting to the IT Specialist and will work on 6/3 roster.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide a range of Tembo Nickel’s servers, database, and storage availability reporting to ensure that agreed levels of availability, reliability, and maintainability are measured and monitored on an ongoing to carry out network administration, performance tuning, and capacity planning to continually assess the installation to ensure it is appropriate for current and planned developments making recommendations for change. Tembo Nickel’s End User Computing Component Inventory and lifecycle i.e., IT Asset Management (ITAM) Lead Disaster Recovery initiative from a technology infrastructure perspective including documenting recovery procedures of all critical components.

  • Coordination with department heads in resolving technology
  • Enforcing technology policies and standards across the organization.
  • Day to Day management of IT operations at the site.
  • Monitor network and Communication equipment including the VPN tunnel between the head office and Kabanga.
  • Train technology and other staff in technology-oriented systems and issues.
  • Ensure all hardware and software are implemented as per Tembo Nickel policy and
  • IT Configuration Management Database(CMDB)management.

Senior GIS Specialist

Tembo Nickel is seeking to recruit a Senior GIS Specialist to join Tembo Nickel Project Team. This role is reporting to the Projects Superintendent. The Senior Geographic Information System (GIS) Specialist is responsible for inputting, updating, and maintaining GIS databases, coverages, layers, and linkages to various databases. The roster for this role is 6×3.Duty Station -Tembo Nickel Project site-Kabanga.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform GIS database development, qualitative/quantitative analysis, and mapping.
  • Produce detailed, high-quality cartographic products (digital and hardcopy) and accompanying reports by technical guidelines and project requirements.
  • Communicate with project team members and other stakeholders to define data needs, project requirements, and desired outputs.
  • Compile, manipulate, and refine geographic data from a variety of sources including but not limited to, CAD, field observation, satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and existing maps.
  • Perform quality control checks of GIS Data and non-spatial databases with minimal supervision to ensure data integrity.

Camp and Facilities Coordinator

Tembo Nickel is seeking to recruit a Camp and Facilities Coordinator to join Tembo Nickel Project Team. The successful candidate for this role will be responsible for overall management of Camp and catering contractor to ensure quality service delivery and value for money. This role will be reporting to the HR Manager and will work on 6/3 roster. Duty Station: Tembo Nickel Project Site-Ngara

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To manage all daily, weekly, and monthly operations of the camp
  • To ensure that camp and catering contactor provides all guests the Tembo Nickel experience, compliant with our high standard of service offering.
  • Review invoices from the contractor before processing.
  • Lead score card meetings every month and addressing all service delivery issues with the contractor.
  • Health and safety including protection of all guests, staff, property, and equipment (all company assets to be managed to limit potential loss to Tembo Nickel.

Training Lead 

Tembo Nickel is seeking to recruit a Training Led to join Tembo Nickel Project Team. This role is reporting to the HR Manager. The successful candidate for this role will drive training strategy both technical and non-technical and will ensure that all employees are properly trained to operate every equipment used on site in a safe manner. The roster for this role is 6×3. Duty Station -Tembo Nickel Project site-Kabanga

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop competency and capability to ensure a skilled workforce is developed for Kabanga site roles.
  • Identify training requirements, develop, and schedule training needs, monitor, and maintain training records for the Kabanga site workforce.
  • Development and implementation of safety systems, procedures, standards, and initiatives to establish high operating and performance standards for Kabanga site.
  • Identify improvement opportunities in work processes to reduce risk exposures to personnel. Implement value adding initiatives through structured change management processes.
  • Ensure all site incidents, investments, workplace injuries and related documentation are managed and completed in line with existing standards and procedures.
  • Develop competence-based matrix for each role at Kabanga Site.
  • Ensure site compliance to company and site standards, relevant local and national legislation.
